In-person worship will be available for a maximum of 125 people each Sunday, as long as we are worshipping in the Sanctuary and in Phase 3 (see below for Phase guidance). An online RSVP system will be available on our website and in our weekly Thursday email. If you have difficulties using the online RSVP system please notify our church office at (651)774-0344 and they will assist you in signing up. This RSVP system allows us to stay within our maximum number and provide contact tracing for our community.

Arriving for worship

  • Please arrive NO EARLIER than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of worship.
  • Prior to worship, the air inside the building will have been fully ventilated, our Sanctuary will be sanitized, and we will be prepared to greet you with a smile behind our masks.
  • Plan on bringing your mask and keeping it on (with your mouth and nose covered!) while you are in the building.
  • Enter through the parking lot doors and enter the Sanctuary from the back/narthex. Our Welcome Team will be there to guide and assist you every step of the way.

Seating in worship

  • Your group will be personally seated by a Welcome Team member. This team is responsible for helping our community sit safely spaced throughout the Sanctuary, from the front to the back.
  • You will be dismissed by a Welcome Team member at the end of service, starting from the front (who will enter out the side door) and the back (who will enter out the back door). This is all to help maintain as little cross-contamination as possible.
  • You are encouraged to socialize and enjoy Fellowship Time in the parking lot following worship.

During worship

  • There is a combination of live and pre-recorded content. Special music or soloists may participate in worship, but there is no congregational singing at this time.
  • Bring your Bible, our pew hymnals and Bibles have been removed in an effort to help keep the Sanctuary sanitized for use.
  • We will not be handing out paper bulletins at this time - our Sunday morning email will still arrive in your inbox at 7:00am with all of the worship details, announcements, links, and more.
  • At this time we are not able to offer our nursery, Children's Church, or Sunday School opportunities (though there is a changing table available in the nursery).
  • If you find that you need a quiet space for your child during worship, please exit the back of the Sanctuary and one of our Welcome Team members will escort you to a quiet space to be able to hear the worship service. This is in part to help our community members who are watching the service via the live stream.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we practice this new routine. We are excited to be back together, and we know that it will be different. After this last year, we are all pros at handling "different." We can't wait to see your (masked) face in worship when you are able to join us.

REGATHERING PHASES

As First Covenant continues to respond to the coronavirus pandemic, we follow state and local guidelines for regathering and building usage. For more information about each Phase (we are currently in Phase 3) read below. As new information and guidance becomes available we will update these tabs and guidelines accordingly. Our goal is to be able to respond quickly to changes in our local situation in a way that both encourages the emotional and spiritual wellbeing of our community, and keeps vulnerable members (and others) physically safe. We are listening to the science, local leadership, and to our community as we discern what each Phase looks like. Changes do happen as we learn more and put guidelines in practice, and will be reflected below.

If our Phase changes you will be notified in your weekly Thursday email (sign up to receive that email here).

HOW WILL WE KNOW WHEN WE ARE IN PHASE 1?

  • Uncontrolled spread of COVID-19 in our community.

  • We will continue to follow the guidelines for faith communities from the Minnesota Department of Health to make our regathering decisions in Phase 1.

BUILDING USAGE IN PHASE 1

  • No public use of building.

  • Exceptions made for essential services and activities (e.g. Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf, Family Values for Life Pop Up Essentials) and video recording/live streaming online worship services.

WORSHIP SERVICES IN PHASE 1

  • Live-streamed or pre-recorded worship services will be offered.

REGATHERING SAFELY VIDEO COLLECTION

Whether we are gathering indoors or outdoors, we've put together some videos to show you how to do it safely. One of the best ways to love our neighbor is to mask up and practice safe regathering methods. Get refreshed on the latest safety protocols below.
