Administration and Communications

Would you enjoy helping to make ministry happen at First Covenant Church? Consider joining our (nearly) “all volunteer” office and communications teams. We have a variety of opportunities for you to consider, some of which you can do from your own home!

  • Office receptionist - 3 hour shift answering phones or making phone calls, greeting visitors (and regulars!), making photocopies (optional). Computer experience helpful but not required. Prefer weekly or bi-weekly commitment.
  • Data entry - update our church database, enter attendance, address changes, new attendees, gifts and skills data and others. Can be done from home (or coffee shop). Training provided on a user-friendly program.
  • Graphic design - Be part of a team creating designs for brochures, flyers, posters, newsletters & website slides. Can be done from home.
  • Writing and editing - help write, edit and proofread publications. Can be done from home.
  • Handyperson - we can always use your skills in painting, carpentry and masonry (and others) for various projects in the building.
  • Ministry Needs:

Ever wonder who replenishes the giving envelopes and prayer cards in the pews, sharpens the little golf pencils and makes sure the hymn books and Bibles are in order? You probably haven’t, but it’s a job that needs to be done each week. We have a few, very faithful people that have been doing this for years and it’s time for others to join them. It takes at most an hour a week, and the team rotates on a monthly basis. Have questions or want to offer to help? Please contact the church office (651-774-0344/office@first-covenant.org).

Book Share, located on the shelves to the left of the Welcome Center, is growing thanks to those who have already donated books. Our purpose is that you have the opportunity to read some of these books. Just borrow, read and return them. There is also a space for children’s books. We welcome your book donations! Books should be current or classic, wholesome, and in good condition. Leave them in the large basket so they can be tagged. Thanks! Marilyn Ash and Kay Carlson.

Worship Ensembles - Our Worship Team rehearsals will alternate between our Intergenerational /Intercultural Teams (eligible for grades 9 through adult), and our Gospel Choir (all ages welcome). If you are interested in participating in either of these groups please contact Brandi Sanders at Brandi@first-covenant.org or Richard Voth at Richard@first-covenant.org. The Handbell Choir is open for grades 7 through adult.

Meal Ministry: If you are interested in being a part of a meal ministry by making and delivering a meal to a family experiencing a significant life event, please sign up at the Welcome Center or contact the FCC office at office@first-covenant.org. When a need arises, you will be contacted to sign up for a date to prepare and deliver your meal.

A free "YouVersion Bible" app may be downloaded from the Covenant Church website to your mobile device (>here).
