ADVENT GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

There are many opportunities to spread Living Hope to others this Advent season. At First Covenant, we are highlighting three ways to give this Advent. Check them out below.

Christmas, the celebration of Jesus Christ giving Himself to us as a baby born on earth, should be a time of joy, rejoicing, and delight. For many in our community who find themselves in a difficult place, this is often not their experience -- especially when children are involved. With housing, food, and living costs ever increasing, Christmas gifts often fall by the wayside as an unattainable dream. In keeping with First Covenant Church of Saint Paul's rich heritage of generous giving, "Giving Christmas Away" was established to help make some of those dreams attainable while ensuring dignity and privacy. This enduring opportunity is a partnership between First Covenant Church of Saint Paul and Family Values for Life.

Here is how Giving Christmas Away works in 2020:

beginning Sunday, November 29: Virtual ornaments are available. Each ornament has the information for one child in our community (name, age, and wishlist). CLICK HERE TO CHOOSE YOUR ORNAMENT.

Sunday November 29 - Monday, December 7: Shop! There is a $50 limit for each receiver.

Tuesday, December 8 - Thursday, December 10: Return unwrapped gifts to the church office (between 9:00am - 3:00pm). Please include a roll of wrapping paper and a roll of clear tape with your gifts. If you need to arrange a drop off time outside of those hours, please contact Donovan DeGaetano. Our Christmas elves will begin wrapping and assembling presents.

Wednesday, December 16: Drive up event for those receiving gifts at First Covenant Church.

JONATHAN HOUSE

Update: all the wishlists have been fulfilled! Thank you for your generosity!

Jonathan House provides housing for asylum seekers in the Twin Cities (CLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE ABOUT JONATHAN HOUSE). We have the opportunity to bring joy to the four men living at the East Side Jonathan House  & one mom and her 6 year old daughter who recently moved into the Frogtown Jonathan House by purchasing gifts for them to open this Christmas.

We've received a wish list from each of the residents with gift ideas ranging from $10-$100. Contact Jeannine Nordlund to learn more about how you can be a blessing this Christmas. Please bring wrapped gifts to the church office no later than Thursday, December 30th. (Office hours are Tuesday - Thursday from 9:00am-3:00pm). Be sure to include a note indicating who the gift is from, to ensure it gets to the right recipient!
