The nursery is open and staffed for children ages birth - 4 years on:
- 9:30am - 10:30am (during Worship)
- 11:00am - 12:00pm (during Spiritual Growth Hour)
- 6:15pm – 7:30pm (during evening programming)
Lead by Nursery Coordinator, Lora Murtha, our nurseries provide safe and engaging spaces for our youngest members. Our nursery uses two rooms: an infant room and a toddler room stocked with age-appropriate toys and activities. Our volunteers have undergone training and background checks and are excited to welcome our littlest ones in order to create warm and engaging first experiences at church.
Big G's Neighborhood meets weekly from 6:15pm - 7:30pm on Wednesdays:
There’s something for everyone to grow in their faith on Wednesdays at First Covenant! Check out what your community is up to in Big G’s Neighborhood:
- Little Big G’s (PreK + K)
Our youngest members get to know one another and their Creator through games, fun Bible stories, and crafts.
- Big G’s (1st – 4th grades)
There’s something for every learning style – from interactive story times, small groups, games, and crafts, children interact with the Bible every week.
- Super G’s (5th – 6th grades)
Being a tween is tough! Our team of Super G’s volunteers is ready to welcome your preteen with open arms. Super G’s is all about skill building and walking along with our kids as they learn to understand and cope with the challenges of living out their faith in an ever changing world in positive and healthy ways in our Confident Kids curriculum.
Children's Sunday School meets weekly from 11:00am – 12:00pm on Sundays
Sunday School sparks our kids’ interest in Jesus and the Bible. Children meet in age level classrooms after a combined opening activity and navigate questions and challenges of living out their faith through a combination of animated videos and fun classroom activities.
Children's Church meets during the Sunday Worship Service
Children are invited to meet their volunteer teachers at the back of the Sanctuary before the sermon. Children rejoin their parents and caregivers during the closing song.
Lead by our volunteer Jennifer Herman, Children’s Church provides the place for these children to worship together through age appropriate biblical teachings, songs, crafts, and other age appropriate activities.
Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 5:45pm
This is First Covenant’s safe space between school and evening activities for children and youth (K - 12th grades), co-sponsored by our partners Family Values for Life. Participants enjoy gym time, reading and homework help, vocal/theater/dance workshops, snacks, and more!

It seems like there’s no shortage of opinions on how to parent the best, how do you know you’re doing it right? The parenting journey can be challenging, isolating, and confounding. Parent Ministry Online (PMO) is our way to encourage and equip parents and caregivers on the roller coaster ride of parenting. PMO is a service curated by trusted experts in childhood and faith development, and personalized by our First Covenant team. In short, it’s tailored to our community and your needs.
Sign up for Parent Ministry Online and each month you’ll receive:
- Two brief emails introducing and unpacking a topic that is specific to your child’s age and stage – these come at the beginning and mid-point of each month.
- A link to a personalized video going further in depth to the month’s topic from your own ministry leaders.
- Ongoing encouragement and thoughts as you follow our Children and Family Ministry on social media.
- Curated information from trusted experts.
Ministry is maximized by our volunteers. We love our volunteers and value the impact they make in the lives of our children. First Covenant’s Children and Family Ministry believes in equipping and empowering our volunteers to serve, love, and care for our children.
We do this by:
- Maintaining a safe adult to child ratio in our programs.
- Enforcing safe bathroom and safety procedures.
- Ensuring that our volunteers are trained and have successfully passed background checks before serving.
