Job Summary / Description
First Covenant Church of Saint Paul (FCC) is seeking a full time associate minister to serve in leadership with the church’s youth, families, music and worship team ministries.
This is a terrific new opportunity in ministry to a unique and exciting community in East Saint Paul, Minnesota. FCC is an increasingly intergenerational and intercultural community seeking to bring the love of Jesus to people, our neighborhood, and the world.
The proximity of FCC to local public schools provides a great opportunity for collaboration and for seeking ways in which the lives of youth can be transformed. Our call is turning this unique place into a church home for young people and their families, where they can grow and develop as Christ followers into the fullness of who they were created to be.
This associate minister will serve to connect and bring the ministry to youth and their families together with the worshipping community at FCC. Specifically, in addition to leading the youth ministry of the church, for 7th through 12th grade youth, the associate minister will also coordinate and lead worship teams for the church’s worship ministry. The position is roughly 75% working with youth, 25% coordinating and leading worship teams (that often include youth members).
Year-round ministries include Wednesday Youth Group (Jr/Sr High), Sunday School, Confirmation, Bible Studies, summer camps and trips, and other youth specific programming throughout the year. The associate minister will also provide leadership for, and actively recruit and train youth mentors, student leaders and worship team members.
We are seeking a leader who is passionate about living out their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and sharing the Good News!
The associate minister will enjoy working with young people, including their families, in a collaborative, team-based environment. Two to three years of related experience working with youth and youth development. A college degree is required, and experience in past ministry settings is preferred, demonstrating the ability to lead in an inter-cultural community, working across cultural, ethnic, gender, and other socio-economic lines.
This associate minister will provide necessary leadership through piano or guitar proficiency. Individuals should have vocal experience in leading or participating in worship teams.
