We believe that our strategic partnerships are one of the unique things about First Covenant Church. You'll find that how we live into our mission and vision is in large part through partnerships. We believe that we go farther, and do better, when we do it together. Here at First Covenant we live it out through the way we use our building, invest in our neighborhood, and work together in ministry opportunities. It all comes back to partnership.

CHURCHES AND MINISTRIES SHARING OUR SPACE

Family Values for Life (FVFL) engages both parents and children, believing that we can make a stronger, more sustainable impact on the family, and in turn, the entire community.

FVFL focuses on four pillars: Physical Fitness (educating participants in nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and rest), Spiritual Empowerment (providing the tools to break free from negative thought patterns and habits), Mental Alertness (improving mental state that enhances participants outlook on life), and Financial Stability (providing resources that support a standard of living that will encourage self-sufficiency).

FVFL has shared an After School Program with FCC, manages the Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf, coordinates significant community events, and provides other key programming throughout the year.

Individuals and families turning to the Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf often come in crisis and stay to build stability. Sudden issues like job or transportation loss or medical crises cause food and/or housing insecurity, which all weaken the stability of a household. The Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf offers basic needs support, and crisis and resource assistance. These services are designed to relieve immediate stress for low-income neighbors while also helping them build a more stable foundation for their future. Services are provided form our East Saint Paul location. Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf is a ministry of Family Values for Life, La Iglesia St. Paul, and First Covenant Church.

  • Asylum seekers come to the US seeking protection from persecution or human rights violations. They come from the most troubled regions of the world in hope of finding safety and a normal life. While completing the years-long asylum process, they face many material challenges, the greatest one being the ability to find stable housing.

Jonathan House extends shelter, hope, and healing to asylum-seekers in Minneapolis/St. Paul by offering supportive housing, strategic connections, practical assistance, and a welcoming community with a desire to help our new friends recover from forced displacement and begin to rebuild their lives. First Covenant provided the building for the first Jonathan House and began partnering with the International Association For Refugees to house asylum seekers in Fall 2017. Check out a profile from Christianity Today on Jonathan House's impact
