Lent small groups
Think of this Lent (the 40 days leading up to Easter) as an opportunity to spend time reflecting on your life, and turning back to God. First Covenant is giving you the opportunity to do just that in community.
This Lent we are providing three different daily Lent devotionals that you can do on your own or in the supportive community of a Lent Small Group. The past two years have had an isolating effect, many of us have felt (and may continue to feel) lonely. But, following Jesus is all about community -- each person matters, has something to contribute, and is invited to share in our life together. Joining a Lent Small Group is a way to feel at home and connect with different faces and relationships.
We are providing both in-person (on Sunday mornings following worship) and virtual (Monday evenings on Zoom) opportunities to gather together around one of these devotionals to share in these short term communities to grow together. If you have questions, please contact Pastor Mike.

WONDROUS ENCOUNTERS: SCRIPTURE FOR LENT BY RICHARD ROHR
Meets Sunday mornings from 10:45am - 11:45am on March 13, 20, 27, and April 10 (facilitator tbd) OR
Meets Monday evenings from 7:00pm - 8:00pm on March 13. 21, 28, and April 11 (facilitated by Joe Mann)
Rohr's meditations on the daily readings of Lent are not for the sake of mere information, or even for academia (although the author hopes it will satisfy both), but for the sake of our transformation into our original "image and likeness," which is the very image of God. What always and finally matters for all of us is encounter!
Father Rohr begins each meditation with a single title or phrase that sums up the point. Then he offers the meditation followed by key passages from the readings. He ends each meditation with a Starter Prayer that invites you to self-disclosure and to enter the wondrous divine dialogue with clarity, insight—and holy desire! This devotional is available for $5 at the Lent Resource Table in Upper Fellowship Hall.
