Parenting feels even more challenging than ever these days. Whether it's the pandemic, the ever-changing digital landscape, increasing mental health challenges, bullying at school, questions of faith or identity . . . the list continues on. Our kids are navigating a LOT. So, how do you parent (or care) well in the season we are in? Traverse Counseling is joining us for three sessions this fall to navigate just that:
- Sunday, September 18 -- Caring for Healthy Kids and Families
- Sunday, October 16 -- Caring Well in a Conflicted Culture
- Sunday, November 13 -- Caring Well in a Digital Age
We will release audio files of our sessions, along with other resources here.
About Traverse Counseling
To "traverse" is to travel across, through, or around a difficult barrier. All of us have difficult barriers that keep us feeling stuck. Traverse believes that families have the capacity for healing and that when things are difficult it can be useful to seek out a guide to journey out of their stuck places to a more life-giving and fulfilling destination.
|a place for children ages birth - 5th grade to Belong, Believe, and Become|
Belong - a safe place for children & their families to be known and accepted.
Believe - a place where the foundation of Christian faith begins. The children are encouraged to wonder, ask questions, and grow through teaching and healthy relationships with their peers and trusted adults.
Become - a place where lives can be transformed through the power of the Holy Spirit, and become world changers for Christ.
Ministry is maximized by our volunteers. We love our volunteers and value the impact they make in the lives of our children. First Covenant’s Children and Family Ministry believes in equipping and empowering our volunteers to serve, love, and care for our children.
We do this by:
- Maintaining a safe adult to child ratio in our programs.
- Enforcing safe bathroom and safety procedures.
- Ensuring that our volunteers are trained and have successfully passed background checks before serving.
